I know that I can get internet service on my phone through the carrier, but that is not what I am looking for - it is too expensive. I feel the need to clarify this. I am looking for FREE wifi. The phones that come with T-Mobile allow connection with T-Mobile hotspots, $30/mo. for the service. I want to be able to connect to any wirelss lan, at my friends house, or at any random coffee house or public hotspot.

what is the point of WiFi on cell phones? - whats the point of wifi anymore now that every half decent phone requires a media package that uses 3g? every phone claims to have the best wifi even though you have to buy a $30 media package on every phone.. i think its stupid.. but is there a real answer?
